This project originally was aimed to educate people and policy makers about what would be lost by destroying the old Maxwell Street Market. Parts of this were shown in exhibits in Chicago at the Community Renewal Society and in Clarksdale, Mississippi at the Delta Blues Museum -- in the summer of 1994 just before the market was closed down. The market gave people hope; read how it can still be resurrected. See what the old market site looks like today: 01 (25K); 02 (28K).
