Dear sir,
I am very disappointed in hearing about the demolition of a musical landmark for profit. I am a 24 year old blues lover, and there are a lot of young blues listeners that would like to see such historical places. I can only imagine some of the GREAT men in music that have walked that street, and inspired generations of men and women in music. I would like to see this site preserved for future generations interested in learning where the music that created rock and roll was played, formed, and passed on. If you even listen to the blues, you must know who Muddy Waters, Willie Dixon, Buddy Guy, Big Joe Turner, Elmore James and the many more artists who, played there. I would give anything to see these greats, but all I have are locations, dates, and recordings to imagine. If you tear down the Maxwell Street location, you will destroy a place where legends have walked.
