Protest Rally: Saturday, April 4, 1998 at 11:00AM at the corner
of Maxwell And Halsted
Join in solidarity with local community groups for a rally
and march protesting UIC expansionism into the old Maxwell Street
area and its harmful impact on historic preservation, the environment,
and the community.
* Bluesman Jimmie Lee Robinson will be there to sing his new
Blues song: The Maxwell Street Tear Down Blues. Piano C.
Red, of the Flat Foot Boogie Band, will be playing and singing
blues also.
* Jim's Original will donate polish sausages for the protesters.
* Try to get there by 10:00AM to help make protest signs.
* The media have told us they will cover this.
* Join in the diverse spirit of Maxwell Street. This will
be an historic event.
