Is there a way we can write this Mr. Fish (or whoever is in charge) and let them know why historic preservation is important?
Why preserve was a question I had to get into my head when I started working for my grassroots community organization, Historic Towson Inc. Now I say it all the time to members, on tours, lectures, to the press and now we are making a documentary and to the film makers:
We preserve for two reasons. The first is it is a connection to the past (much like family heirlooms handed down) the other is that historic structures give your community a specific identity that no other community has.
