As the manager of a Seattle based blues band, I am extremely concerned
about the future of the Maxwell Street Historic Preservation District.
Everyday I see the legacy, the history of this incredible culture
be disregarded and destroyed. As an institute of learning surely
you must see the importance of preserving as much of this history
as we can. Too many times the thoughts, feelings and hard work
of the common ordinary working people of this great land go un-noticed
and not recorded. Please preserve the Maxwell Street District
and incorporate it into the University of Illinois's plans for
commercial development. Thank you for your time.
