Dear Chancellor Broski,

It has come to my attention that your University has chosen to remove one of our nation's last great Blues Districts, ie Maxwell Street in Chicago. As a musician, blues aficionado, and internet blues page host, this disturbs me greatly. Surely the income generated by new buildings and parking lots is not as important as preserving this historic area. If properly managed and maintained, sufficient cashflow from tourism would justify this project, if indeed that is the issue at hand.

Please reconsider this serious undertaking and give present and future blues lovers a place in Chicago to see the real birthplace of the Chicago Blues.

Very truly yours,

Scott Montgomery
