Dear David Broski:

While surfing the net, I learned, to my dismay, that there are plans to demolish the historic Maxwell Street Market. As a native African American Chicagoan, born on the Southside, I urge you to consider saving this landmark. I have fond memories of accompanying my grandmother on shopping excursions to Maxwell Street as well as taking dates to buy Maxwell Street hotdogs during my teenage years. For the past 20 years I have lived in historic Maryland communities (including historic Frederick, MD) and have come to appreciate the value of historic preservation.
