Sir

The Delta Blues Association of Canada Inc. is dedicated to the recognition of the most influential music form of the Twentieth Century (the Blues). It is important to those that are not apart of your fine country to know that this heritage is being preserved for future generations. Similar to that which was done by the Library of Congress in preserving the music itself back around the 1920's.

It is the Delta Blues Association of Canada's opinion that the Blues will receive the appropriate recognition (that has eluded it) in the Twentyfirst Century.

There is a powerful movement around the World that is trying to set the records straight and that is "Blues is the foundation of all of today's popular music". As a result preserving this heritage may not have short term ramifications but without a doubt will have long term ramifications both from a Cultural and Economic perspective.

I would hope that in some small way we can influence this decision to close Maxwell Street not only for our benefit but indubitable yours as well.

Thank you for taking the time out to read this and for your consideration no matter what the out come.

Yours truly

Rae George Reid, President, Delta Blues Association of Canada Inc
