I wish to add my voice to those who want to include a Maxwell Street Historic Preservation District in the plans for the University's redevelopment of the Maxwell Street Area.
I gave talks for the Chicago Jewish Historical Society and I mention the importance of the history of the Maxwell Street Area in the process of turning immigrants into good American citizens.
By including Maxwell Street in your plans you will be enhancing
the function of the University in emphasizing the importance of
history in the development of America.
