Dear Mr. Broski - I am concerned about the proposed commercial redevelopment of the Maxwell Street area of your city. As you must be aware Chicago is famous worldwide for blues music, and this colorful district is one of the important places where that music has been performed and even developed. Here in Seattle we managed to preserve as well as renovate our Pike Place Market, and of course you know Memphis has resurrected Beale Street, albeit as more of a tourist center than what it had been in it's heyday.

I hope Chicago will honor one of it's most important contributions to American (and world) culture, and not obliterate this important fount of that contribution.
