Dear David,

As a frequent visitor to Chicago (my first trip was in conjunction with the city's fine Blues Fest and I have continued to attend the Blues Fest the last 5 out of 6 years), I would like to add my voice to those advising you to incorporate some historical designation/renovation of remaining Maxwell Street properties into your development plans...I won't restate all the reasons why this area is a vital link to the city of Chicago's original and continuing contributions to the blues, but want you to know that visitors to Chicago are concerned about this issue as well.

With the revenue Blues and Jazz fests bring the city, and Chicago's world-wide reputation as a home of the blues, you will do not only your reputation for higher learning a severe disservice if you ignore the vital historical importance of this area...you'll be ignoring some flat-out revenue potential as well.

Thanks for your time.

Save and celebrate the remaining Maxwell Street area.
