Dear Chancellor Broski,
As a former resident of the Pilsen and a frequent and avid patron of the Maxwell St. Market, I was doubly saddened on my return to Chicago to view the changes at the market's site.
Please take advantage of your rare opportunity to preserve a site that serves many different cultures and socio-economic groups. The culturally vital service that spaces such as this provide to the community are often only valued in hindsight. I hope on my next trip to the Maxwell St. area to see the preservation of some of what I remember, as live as always.
