48 Hour Save Maxwell St Blues Marathon, June 9 to June 11

When: Friday night June 9 at midnight and going continuously to Sunday night June 11 at midnight. It's free, of course.

Where: Juketown Community Bandstand at the northeast corner of Halsted and Maxwell St, across from Original Jim’s Hot Dog Stand, a little bit southwest of the Loop. Go to Roosevelt Road and South Halsted and then go three blocks south on Halsted.

Why: To rise awareness that Maxwell St. still exists and as a memorial to recently departed Maxwell Street Bluesman, David Lindsey.

On Sunday, June 11 from 10am to 3pm, Al Harris and the 6 Pack R & B Band will anchor the bandstand with Blues musicians sitting in from all over. But Scott and Mr. H. want Blues fans and musicians to come by anytime.
