Hunger Strike, now over two months, Bluesman Robinson explains his sacrifice for Maxwell St.

I was at a Meeting with Hilary Clinton around October 1999

Her Subject was Save America's Treasures.

What a Great Subject and what this should Mean, for the Future Genarations Yet to Come.

The National Regerstery, Refuse to give Protection to Save the Old Historical Building on Maxwell St, And also Halsted St. Is It because you are Connected, with the Mighty and the Powerful Chicago Politics? We are A Shame of You, The World is Watching You.

There are those Organazations and Impartant People, who would come to our Suport.

But due to there Political Connections, with the Mighty and the Strong and the Powerful Chicago Political Bosses UIC and Mayor Richard Daley. They Fear that they may have a Lose in Power, for There Existance, Within The City Of Chicago Politics. I have gave My Suport to Them when they asked, I hold no Malice In my Heart, Against no Man or Woman.

They have Strip Her of Her Garments [MAXWELL ST] Saying Crucify Her, They say.

To Make Her Look Ugly, and Bad. To give Her a Bad Name, that they may say She Maxwell St is not Worthy to be Saved.

There was a Man who was Crucified 2000 Years Ago.

His Friends was Ask by the Athority, Do you Know this Man?

They Answered we do not Know this Man.

"Above" All, We Need to Have Here, and All Over And Around the World,

Super Natural Health Institutions Of Learning. That we may Learn How to Save Our Environment and Our Self''s.

I Am a Soldier of the Rightous, and We have Our Weapon's to Fight with and Our Weapon's Is the Truth.

We also Need a Blues Historical Museum, that we may Remember the Unknown and the forgotton Musicians, and The out Cast of the Pass.

Before I was Born, I was in my Mother Belly on Maxwell St. The Place She Love to Be,

and at my Cousin Della House. Moody Jones and Floyd Jones and Snooky Pryor.

They Called Her Baby Sister. She was a Eastern Star. She Lived At 910 west Maxwell St, Next door to the meat Market and the Music Store. One was on the East and the Other was on the West. The Music Store was on the West Side of 910 Maxwell St.

I was Born in Trouble, and still Walking in the Flames of life.-

My Cousin Wife Annie Mae Jenkin and Joeseph Jenkin was there, She is now about 95 years Old . Living now in Milwaukee Wisconsin with Her Nese Mattie.

UIC and Chicago, Please Build you mall to Includ, What left on Maxwell St.

And all of the Building on Halsted St.

You can Build around these Historical Sites,

And this will be a Beautiful Site, and you will be looking good UIC.

I Wish my Mother could see This.

After all is said and Done, Know Matter how you may Feel about It.

Or what kind of a Problem, That you may have with It, You can't Deny It.

Jimmie Lee Robinson Is Chicago's very Own,

And One of Her Oldest, and Truest Great Blues Man of All Times.

Don't Wait Until He is Almost Dead, As You have all of the Other Origanal's.

To Appreciate Him.

This Same Man that They Crucified 2000 Year's Ago.

He said, I Came to my Own and They Recieved Me Not.

We Will Not Let You Kill Her, And The Remembrance of Her Name.

May Her Name, And Memory Live For Ever. "MAXWELL STREET"

UIC & Chicago, You may have a Plan and We may have a Plan.

God is the Greatest of all Planners.

"JIMMIE LEE ROBINSON"

THE LONELY TRAVELLER

Note: Jimmie Lee Robinson, Blues singer and songwriter, poet and activist, asked me to post this on the Preserve Maxwell Street website. I posted it in the same format he sent it to me. Ordinarily, I would check his spelling but I thought the irregular 'natural' way of his spelling here added to the poetry of expression. His prayer is humble but his courage is great. - S. Balkin
